Trust no one in the room
Deceit is a first-person game of trust and deception for six players. You wake up in unknown surroundings with five strangers. Two of you carry a virus, and they will try to take the others down one by one. Pick up items, fight over the ones that matter, make alliances and watch what everyone does: every choice tells you which side a player is on.

How a match plays out
Wake up
Six players wake up as humans. The two infected know each other; the innocents know nothing.
Objectives
Each zone has its objectives to collect. Gather them, along with weapons and items, and keep an eye on everyone.
Blackouts and fuses
Then the lights go out and the infected can take their terror form to hunt. Put in the fuses to reach the next zone; after the last blackout, they open the exit.
Vote
At any moment of the match, vote out the player you think is infected. Pick the wrong one and you have helped them.
Escape
The innocents win by getting out through the exit. The infected win by stopping them.
Innocent
Stay alert, work together and keep an eye on anyone acting strangely. Weapons, antidotes and a good alibi will get you further than luck.
Infected
Blend in, collect blood and cover up your sabotage. When the blackout comes, transform: in terror form you are faster, stronger and see better than your prey.

Your game, our code
Your own copy of Deceit
You need a Steam account with Deceit in its library. The setup asks your own Steam to download the game: we never host or send any file of Deceit.
Only our own code
Antidote is our own software. It changes the game in memory while it runs and never modifies the game files on your disk.
Built on your PC
The event maps, the cosmetics of Deceit Live and the event loading screens are built on your PC from your own game files and from the Deceit Live files your Steam downloads. We only send our own changes, never the files of the game.
Not official
Antidote is a free community project, not affiliated with the owners of Deceit, and nothing in it is sold. If you own rights to Deceit, contact us.
Read our terms of use and privacy policy: what Antidote collects, why, and your rights.
Get Antidote
The setup installs Deceit 1 Legacy and Antidote with everything it needs. No extra step.
By installing Antidote you accept its terms of use and privacy policy. The setup shows them too.

Questions
Is Antidote official?
No. Antidote is an independent community project made by players. It is not affiliated with, authorized, endorsed or sponsored by the developers or publishers of Deceit, and it does not speak for them.
Which Deceit does Antidote work with?
Deceit 1 Legacy only. Antidote does not work with Deceit 1 Live or with Deceit 2 Legacy.
Does it cost anything?
No. Everything is completely free to use with no hidden fees, no subscriptions and no paywalls, giving you full access to every feature from the moment you start. There are no microtransactions: nothing in the game is bought with real money.
I own Deceit on Steam. What do I do?
Install it with the setup too: Steam no longer offers the Legacy version of Deceit. Your profile is tied to your Steam account, so you find it as it was.
Why do I need Steam?
Steam does two things. During the installation, the setup asks your own Steam to download the game, so Deceit must be in your Steam library. When you play, the game signs you in with your Steam account, so Steam has to be running and signed in. Your profile, friends and rankings are tied to that account.
What does the setup install on my PC?
The game, downloaded by your own Steam into the folder you choose, then Antidote, its shortcuts and an uninstaller, for your Windows account only. Nothing else in that folder is touched, and no administrator rights are needed.
Why does the setup download Deceit Live?
The cosmetics of Deceit Live are not shipped with Antidote: they are built on your PC from the files of Deceit Live. The setup asks your Steam to download them (about 14 GB), builds the cosmetics, then deletes those files. If Deceit Live is already installed and up to date in your Steam, its files are used directly and nothing more is downloaded.
I played Deceit before. Do I keep my progress?
Yes. Your profile is tied to your Steam account: the first time you play, your level, progression and cosmetics from before the servers shut down are brought back.
Who runs the match?
When a lobby is found, the server of the match starts on the PC of one of the players, chosen for the best connection with the others. Matchmaking, profiles and rankings are handled by the Antidote server.
Can I play with my friends?
Yes. Invite them to your party from the menu and start a search together.
How do updates work?
Automatically. When a new version of Antidote is out, it is downloaded and installed when you start the game, before the game opens. You have nothing to do.
How do I uninstall it?
Run unins000.exe in the game folder, or uninstall it from Windows' installed apps. It removes the whole game folder and the shortcuts.
I own rights to content shown here. How do I reach you?
Contact the team on Discord. We will be glad to talk it through with you and find what works for both of us.
